Imge Nesting
Imge Nesting is a professional nesting software that automates cutting plan optimization for sheet metal, wood, glass, acrylic and composite panels using mathematical optimization algorithms. It maximizes material efficiency by packing even irregular shapes onto sheets as densely as possible.
Real-time efficiency calculation, remnant management and multi-sheet optimization reduce production planning time. Integration with Imge CAD/CAM enables a direct workflow from design to cutting program on a single platform.
Machine-specific toolpath rules for laser, plasma, waterjet, router and press — combined with common-line cutting support — ensure the optimum NC program is delivered directly to your CNC machine.

Advanced Bin-Packing Algorithm
Handles irregular, nested and rotated part geometries with configurable rotation angles (0°, 90°, 180°, 270° or free) and mirroring options to minimize scrap.
Multi-Sheet & Multi-Order Optimization
Sheets of different sizes, thicknesses and materials are optimized simultaneously. Parts from multiple orders are combined and distributed across sheets for maximum efficiency.
Remnant (Offcut) Tracking
Leftover sheet pieces are automatically added to the remnant library after cutting. The system prioritizes these remnants in subsequent orders, reducing raw sheet consumption.
Common-Line Cutting
Adjacent parts share a single cut line, eliminating tool retraction distance. Cutting time and consumable wear are significantly reduced.
CNC Machine Integration
Machine-specific GCode / NC output generated for laser, plasma, waterjet, oxy-fuel and router. Toolpath simulation detects collisions and boundary violations before sending to machine.
Wide File Format Support
DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, SVG and PDF drawings are imported directly. Single-click part geometry transfer from Imge CAD or SolidWorks.
Material Library & Cutting Parameters
Custom kerf values, minimum part spacing and corner tolerances are defined per material type and thickness. Parameter library grows as new materials are added.
Real-Time Efficiency Analytics
Material utilization percentage, total scrap area, part count and estimated cutting time are reported instantly. Multiple nesting scenarios can be compared.
3D Sheet Metal Unfolding
3D sheet metal parts designed in Imge CAD are automatically converted to 2D flat patterns. Bend allowance and K-factor calculations are built in.
Batch Work Orders & ERP Integration
Work orders from SCIENTA ERP are automatically imported with part lists. Completed cutting plans feed back to ERP for inventory deduction and production progress tracking.
